The flight arrived on time into Delhi at 12:35am, Friday.
I stood in another long line as we cleared immigration,
found my luggage, and then proceeded to the lobby where
throngs of people were holding up signs for the visitors
they were picking up. I did not see any sign for me,
nor did I see Professor Choudhry. A man came up to me
and told me that he could take me to my hotel. I had
read about these con men, so I politely declined, went
around the outside of the terminal and back inside to
look once more. There, in a clearing was Professor Choudhry.
Whew! I'm glad I found a familiar face. The Professor
was later to tell me that he saw me all along but I
just didn't see him. I know that I was very tired and
not in control of my senses.
We waited outside for awhile until our driver arrived.
After a wild ride through the streets of Delhi, passing
many trucks, we arrived at Club South II in Gurgaon,
my home away from home for the next 5 days.

I went to sleep at 3am and got up at 8am. I proceeded
donwstairs to the buffet breakfast of a spicy bread,
peppered omelette and some tea. I finished writing this
epsitle outdoors. The weather isn't as bad as I had
imagined, but then again, I'm not in the hot sun.
Gurgaon is an old city south of Delhi. People used to
come here to be taught by their gurus. How fitting.
At
night, the neighborhood children and their families
would enjoy the cool waters of the Club pool |
I again met Professor Choudhry at 10:30am in the lobby.
He gave me a complimentary copy of his recently revised
book on Predictive Astrology. We talked until I was
privileged to meet his son, Rajesh and to greet Dr.
Sankara and his wife Dr. Prema.
India's
chart |
I found the discussion of India's newfound popularity
interesting. The country has five planets in the 3rd
house. Currently, India is in the subperiod of Mercury,
one of those planets. The 3rd house rules initiatives
and acts like the Sun. This is a new SA concept. The
2nd, 3rd and 9th houses act like the Sun. India has
been doing well recently as an information/technology
leader.
I heard India described more as a wise elephant than
as a tiger like some other eastern countries. Professor
Choudhry maintains that in the next period of Ketu,
India will not lose its momentum, but would simply keep
its current momentum.

We had lunch at 1pm and it was a feast. Dr. Prema was
very helpful in describing the foods for me. For example,
the difference between nan and roti is that roti is
made in layers with butter or ghee applied in between
each layer. Best to eat right out of the oven. Also,
there was a delicious cottage cheese dish (whose name
I now forget). She explained that there is enough protein
in a nonmeat meal (lentils, cottage cheese, dairy).
Delicious
Indian food was a daily delight |
Afterwards we went a short distance to Professor Choudhry's
home where I met his wife and Rajesh's son, named Vishnukant
who was delivered Caesarian at an auspicious time to
produce a Gemini lagna and 4 (I think) strong planets.
I was allowed to used Professor Choudhry's computer
so that I could email my family and update my blog.

I'm Here!
Namaste,
I arrived in Delhi this morning at 12:30 am and had
a few hours sleep before waking up for my first full
day here. Jet lag has not been a problem given that
I tapped myself (Thought Field Therapy) and chewed on
the homepathic remedy, No Jet Lag all the way here (26
hours of flying). Heat, although at over 100, isn't
seeming to bother me, also.
I've met and talked with Professor Choudhry who gave
me a copy of his just released revised book on Predictive
techniques. Can't wait to find the time to read it.
I've also eaten some very good authentic Indian food.
Since I am on the Professor's computer, I'll make this
short. Hope to check in again in the next couple of
days.
Thanks for the comments, Julie and Anna.
See y'all soon!

Hooray for Thought Field Therapy, Shayn! 26 hours of
flying and no jet lag. That's great!
Have fun learning!

thanks shayn.... glad to hear you made it there...
keep up the posts!
After tea (which I have been drinking a lot of) and biscuits
we came back to the Club and I proceeded to catch up on
a couple hours of sleep.
After my nap I went down to the lobby at 7pm where
I greeted Dr. Jonathan Miller and his fiance, Ms. Sloan.
Shortly thereafter, Professor Choudhry arrived with
his wife. Dr. Sankara and Dr. Prema also arrived. We
chatted, drank tea, and enjoyed yet another feast afterwards.
I gained some astrological insights as a result of
the discussions. I asked whether those with Mercury,
whose color is green, as a malefic should avoid green
plants. The answer is it is ok for 20-30 minutes at
a time, but not continuously.
Professor Choudhry related the story of a woman who
consulted with a non-SA astrologer who didn't predict
that her child would be born blind. Prof. Choudhry could
accurately pinpoint the child's date of birth because
of combust Jupiter (son) and debilitated Son (in Libra)
which most likely was the cause of the blindness.
Mealtime
always served good food and discussion |
Variegated means many colors (I had been always puzzled
by this term). Also, I became clear why my Sun, Mercury,
and Moon in the 6th house haven't caused more problems.
It is because their dispositor, Saturn, is somewhat
strong in my chart, although it is weakened by its dispositor,
Mercury. This explains why my friends (11L, Moon) aren't
befalling bad luck (6th house) all the time. You know
this is something that I kinda knew but didn't realize.
I'll learn to be my own best astrologer...
Also, Prof. Choudhry explained more about the 2nd,
3rd, and 9th houses acting as the Sun in a person's
chart. The 2nd house rules status, wealth, and intelligence
which are attributes of Sun. 3rd house is the ability
to communicate and courage both requisites of a successful
leader, a Sun trait. The 9th house governs father, fortune,
and religion, again attributed to Sun. We also talked
about how the 11th house does not give recognition in
and of itself, but of course, gives gain. So, a person
with a strong 11th house, but weak 1st, 2nd, or 10th
house, may be rich but not necessarily well-known.
